Goodness does time fly. It doesn’t seem like it, but its already been a whole week since my last post. Things have really, really picked up. And so much has happened!!
Band camp has officially started. The freshmen did amazing on freshmen day, I’m really excited about it. But we’ve been super busy in band because we have an early Friday game, before school has even started. So instead of having three full weeks to practice and learn the show, we only have two weeks. Less actually. So they’re really pushing us to learn things and I kinda feel bad about the freshmen. I mean, they are pushing us. Normally, we learn the drill to one song in two days, maybe three depending on the song/drill. But no, not this year. We got the charts for two drills yesterday and finished the show today! An entire show in two days! Thats… thats unheard of! Everyone is dying though, it’s all really ridiculous. Plus there is a lot of drama which no one needs so… yeah.
Writing wise… nada. I haven’t written a single thing. Nope. None. However, other than our band car wash on Saturday, I am totally free this weekend. I wanted to sit and relax, so I’m planning on just writing/typing all weekend. I’ll only stop to eat and pee. That’s the goal at least.
So the 2008 Beijing Olympics are happening!! I watched the Mens Gymnastics Team Finals the other day. It was so amazing and I am so proud that they got bronze! Everyone thought they were going to fail and they did so well on their own for the first time. And I have a new hero, Alexander Artemev. He was the US team member who did an AMAZING Pummel horse routine (look it up on YouTube, it is truly amazing. If I remember later, I might add it to this post) that gave the USA team the points they needed to beat Germany for the bronze. He’s become my new inspiration, along with the other members of the Mens Gymnastics Team.
This is the actual Olympics footage the other night, but just the amazing end of his routine.
This is Artemev doing the same routine, but I’m not sure where.
The Womens Gymnastics Team were amazing to watch as well, and I felt so bad for the girl who fell! I liked her, although I’d never seen her perform before. I just felt so bad! I don’t remember her name, but I hope she does really well in her individual gymnastics events. I’ll be watching at least.
